Secondary School

The curriculum is designed to follow a course of study which provides a broad and balanced range of learning experiences. The Years 7 to 9 also follow the Cambridge Checkpoint Curriculum in the subjects of English, Maths, Science and ICT.

Secondary School

The Secondary Department offers both an International Programme, following a UK-based curriculum, and the Lao Programme approved by the Lao Ministry of Education. Using Cambridge textbooks, the curriculum integrates IELTS preparation for Years 11 to 13 to support students’ academic goals. Our graduates excel internationally, pursuing higher education in countries like Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore.

Highlights

IELTS is integrated into our curriculum to help students build the language skills needed for higher education and international opportunities. As part of their preparation, students are taken to the testing center in Vientiane to complete the official IELTS exam.

Our school offers secondary students the opportunity to join enriching field trips to Savannakhet, Khammouane, Champasak, Thailand, and Vietnam. These trips are designed to expand students' horizons, deepen their understanding of different cultures, and connect their learning to real-world experiences.

High school graduating students from Savannakhet join with the Vientiane main campus students for the graduation ceremony. Many graduates continue their academic journey abroad, with students heading to prestigious universities in countries such as Australia, the United States, China, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, and more, showcasing the global opportunities available to them.

Reports

All students will receive a report each term, which reflects both teacher assessments and any other tests administered. The students’ reports will also indicate whether the student is working at the right level for their age/ability. They will be either: ‘above average’, ‘average’ or ‘below average’ level

The Homeroom teachers will complete a student’s report card. This will be checked by the Principal, who will sign it. Parents/carers will need to collect this at the end of each term.

The report cards include:

 –  A percentage for their classwork

 –  A percentage for their examinations

 –  A percentage for their behaviour and attitude

The final grade includes an average percentage of the three areas above
